After lunch in a garden restaurant, the Karen Blixen Museum slows the pace: the Danish author's farmhouse at the foot of the Ngong Hills, kept as she left it, verandah and coffee-farm relics intact.
The leafy suburb the whole afternoon unfolds in is named for Blixen, and its story stitches the stops together: the coffee farm that failed, the book that immortalised it, and the animals that now carry its name to visitors from everywhere.
