**Ruaha National Park** is the largest national park in Tanzania and the beating heart of the country’s wild, uncrowded southern circuit. Covering around 20,000 square kilometres, it offers a raw, remote safari experience far from the crowds of the north.
The park is defined by the Great Ruaha River, which draws huge numbers of animals through the dry season. Ruaha is renowned for its **elephants** - among the largest populations in East Africa - and for its exceptional **predators**, including big lion prides, leopard, cheetah and one of Africa’s most important populations of endangered wild dog. A transition zone between eastern and southern African species, it also offers unusual sightings such as greater and lesser kudu.
